HI All!
I am having lunch with a major client of mine tomrrow.  The place the client chose is Pei Wei!  I checked out the menu and have seen NOTHING that I think I could handle.  It would be rude of me to request a change in location.  Furthermore, it would be more rude and disrespectful to not join them as they are eating.  We are discussing a contract so this lunch is very important.

I need suggestions!  Please help.  I've included the link to the nutritional information.  I don't mind asking for things to be dumbed down (no sauce, no this, no that) but I don't see anything that presents an option.

I knew it was only a matter ot time until this came up.  Help, Please!!!

Thanks!

You can do it! Do you like Shrimp? The Sesame Shrimp dish doesn't look to bad.

Assuming you've been cleared for regular diet, either hot n' sour soup or the thai wonton soup should be fine. Both are a hair high in fat (per my docs recommendations) but are cool in the carb and protein dept.

Just explain to the client that you are on a limited diet and only order a cup of soup. But encourage them to order what they normally would.

Not sure what diet plan your surgeon uses, but I like the lettuce wraps, Ok not the lettuce yet for you, but the chicken is minced very small and you could eat that with a fork instead of a wrap. I also love their shrimp I get in a bit spicy kung pao I believe.

I would go for the ginger broccoli shrimp personally.  Otherwise maybe a soup?

I agree with the soup suggestions since you are allergic to shellfish. In addtion, just to cover any potential awkwardness or if they encourage you to get something else, you could also tell your client that you are recovering from a recent stomach flu and are still not 100%.

Good luck!

Order the hot and sour soup and the lettuce wraps. Eat slowly and focus on the client. IF they should notice and comment that you haven't eaten much, wave your hand in the air (like you just don't care) and in a blasé tone say, "Oh, I had a minor surgery a few weeks back and it's been wreaking havoc with my taste buds ever since. I never know if something is going to suddenly taste funny and kill my appetite."

Then laugh and say, "It's been great for my waistline." this has worked for me in the past when I have had no desire to discuss my surgery or my weightloss at a lunch or dinner, but I've known I'll encounter them again and I'd be smaller.

Id have to say the soup too.

Everyone in my neck of the woods is suffering from allergies...myself included. Allergies arent 'catchy' so maybe that...who wants to eat when they are all stuffy?  I would feel uncomfortable telling clients I had a stomach bug...aka...the ****s! LOL JMHO.

good luck!
