stuff getting stuck

I am in long-term treatment (chemotherapy) for a metastatic cancer recurrance. I am currently "in remission". I take large pills, so lap band is not an option (or I am not willing to crush and drink them). I am worried about the malabsorption issue with RYN, and would prefer the VSG, but the surgeon is recommending RYN because he says that pills can still get stuck with VSG.

Any thoughts?

Can stuff still get stuck with RYN?

Pills can get stuck with the RNY. If I were you I would think about the sleeve. I'm just worried about what malabsorption could do to someone with an already compromised immune system. Also, you don't want to worry about your medicine being malabsorbed.
I had a sleeve and never had a problem with anything getting stuck.

I had RNY on 10/20/10 and have had difficulty in swallowing and reflux (which I never had before surgery). Still on full liquid diet and while things have gotten better, still not great.
I would do more research on the topic, my guess is that things can get stuck in either operation but because they alter the stomach so much in an RNY, a sleeve may be better.
Good luck to you
