Goals, Motivation..all that!
Sooo almost three years out from RNY down from 280 to 160 something! Why Will these last 20lbs not remove themselves from my thighs? I do not know! So last week I had a talk with myself and we decided that it was time to start from scratch and go back to basics. I did the 5 day pouch test last week and lost 4lbs! now I am back to protein first, no white carbs, chewing, chewing, and chewing, no drinks with meals and portion control. It feels great to use the tool I fought so hard to get three years ago.
I really needed some motivation to get back to the path I have kinda started to ignore. So I set a goal and a reward:
The Goal: lose 20lbs
The reward: Brand new pair of Big Star Jeans...I want sooo bad I visit them at Macy's every chance I get but I REFUSE to buy them in a size 32! Size 28 or nothing baby!
I want to know what motivates you to use your tool and stay focused on your goals. And what do you reward your self with?

RNY 1/29/08
Pre: BMI 47.6 wt 279
Current: BMI 24.9 wt 146
total pounds lost: 133
I'm only ten weeks out so right now, the scale is my big motivation!
We had someone from OH speak at one of our support group meetings a few months ago and his recommendation is that you not reward yourself with STUFF or THINGS, with the exception of a digital camera. He said to buy one and then make your reward creating memories - doing something you wouldn't have done before surgery, going places you've always wanted to go - and to take pictures of yourself at every opportunity.
I thought it was a great idea!
