I tried oatmeal during the first two months and it hurt my tummy so bad I have not had it since. I only was able to get in 2-3 tbs and I gave up, it was the weight control and it has protein added to it. I miss it but not the pain it was to eat. Once again we all respond differently to different foods

Oatmeal is a great food for us.  We need some whole grains in our diet.  I personally love the Active Lifestyle Instant Oatmeal (Raisen, Apple & Walnut).  I always make it with a 1/2 cup of warm skim milk (a little on the soupy side).  Sometimes I'll add unflavored protein or toasted walnuts to bump up the protein.  I am 11 months out and can almost finish an entire packet.  I notice on mornings when I have oatmeal I tend not to be as hungry during the day.

Nutrition:  170 calories, 5 sugar, 8 protein

Also, if you add the protein from the skim milk and unflavored protein powder, you could easily get this in the 20 gram range.  Just sayin'!

I buy the instant oatmeal packets in low sugar or sf maple brown sugar........it tastes so good and I mix it with 2/3 cup milk in the microwave for two minutes and eat it on toast.  I can't eat the whole thing though.

I eat it all the time, but I'm almost 4 years out. Usually use Quaker Weight Control and make with soy milk, add Splenda Brown Sugar and slivered amonds. Also meke with whole oats and will also add a small amt of dried apricot. As others have noted. oatmeal does fill me up and keeps me satisfied longer.
