I've colored and highlighted mine since my surgery. The only thing I have to do is extra conditioning because my hair seems much dryer than it used to be. You should be fine.
I got mine done 2 weeks ago (my new avitar pic was right after I had it done)... I have had no problems. She also put a wonderful repairing conditioner on it and my hair feels like butter.... So go for it!!
