6 months out - Question
I am approaching 6 months post surgery now. I have lost roughly 115 lbs all together and am pretty pleased with the progress, plus I continue to lose about 2 to 3 lbs a week still. I do have question though - Did you find that from the 6 month to 1 year mark you were able to tolerate a wider variety of foods or were you pretty well set with what you could eat after 6 months? I am wondering because there are a number of different things besides the normal bread, pasta, rice that my body won't tolerate. For instance eggs, deli meat (ham, turkey, etc.) do not sit well either. I guess if I have to resign myself to not being able to eat these so be it, because my health is so much better now, but I do hold out hope that things will continue to slowly improve and some day I may be able to enjoy some of this stuff again, just in smaller portions and not as often.
I had a hard time with some food up to about 4 or 5 months post-op but after that most things got much easier and I found myself experimenting with new things after 6 months with more ease. I was over a year out before I could tolerate any type of green leafy stuff ****burg lettuce, spinach, etc) so yeah, things may change the farther out you get.

Mine did not change much... but I had VERY ltitle trouble eating anything almost from the very beginning. Lots of poeple have troubel with eggs for a while and I found that deli meat sometimes didn't sit well at about 3 months out, but by 6 it was fine, so you may very well be able to develop more of a tolerance for those items.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I am five weeks out and eggs are definatly something that just don't feel good going down. I have been told to make them looser and thinner but they just hurt a bit. All this talk about deli meat is funny becasue I have ben enjoying deli turkey for a week now. I chop it up pretty well and then chew it very well. We are all different and have different reactions to different foods.
