OT: First Date Question...play along!!

A friend of mine and I started asking each other a question each day to ponder, sort of like you'd ask of someone with whom you were having a first date. I really enjoy the way it makes me think and very much enjoy the answers we come up with.

I'm thinking it might be fun to extend the questions to my friends here on the forum.

So today's FDQ:

What is your dream trip? And do you ever actually expect to be able to take it in your lifetime (or have you been lucky enough to already have taken it)?

Thanks for playing! And if you have a question you'd like posed in the FDQ, just drop me a note and I'll get it up for you.

Be well my friends...

Denise

I would love to see the pyramids in Egypt... but given political climate don't know if that will ever be possible.

I love the Caribbean - and have been lucky enough to go several times. I want to retire to a tropical island someday. Also always wanted to do a Disney cruise with the kids and was fortunate enough to do that last month.

Denise - what's your answer?

My dream trips would be to vacation in Hawaii and the Caribbean.

*sighs* just saying the names of those is so relaxing and soothing. I will make it to both places in the near future but first I gotta get this weight off me so I can wear a bikini!

I had a couple of dreams trips: I already took one of them (a 2 week trip to Egypt that included a Nile cruise back in 1998 and a picture of me in front of the pyramids (I wanted a pic of me on a camel in front of the pyramids until I smelled the camels!) ), and one of them is no longer possible (I had wanted to see the Three Gorges area of China (along with Hong Kong and some other places while there) before the new damn flooded all the little villages along that part of the Yangtzee River (in 2006).

My NEW dream trip?  Going to Bora Bora (or somewhere similar) where you can stay in the little "huts" that are built up on platforms just off the beach over the water.  I will probably never be able to afford it OR have someone to go with me even if I CAN afford it, though.

Lora-Great minds think alike!!  My dream trip is to the South Pacific and stay in one of those "huts" also.  I read an article about it in a travel magazine a few years ago.  I don't know if we will ever be able to go, but its my dream!

Without a doubt, Italy. I want to go to the town where my father was born and grew up. I have other family there too that I have never met. We had planned a trip, then my father passed away unexpectedly. Its going to be a big trip though...at least 2 weeks!

It is so hard to just pick one destination, but I'd have to say at this time in my life relaxation is the prescription I need to fill, so I'd pick Fiji (with the little huts over the water like Lora mentioned). Just so beautiful. I wouldn't even need to do anything while I was there!

I'd also love to do an around the world adventure type trip. Hot air ballooning over vineyards in France, ziplining in the Congo, running with the bulls in Spain (okay, really jus****ching the freaks with a death wish do it), doing the crazy tomato fight in Italy...darn, the bucket list is getting longer.

Last, but not least, it would be a dream to get on an awesome cruise ship and do a nice, long Med cruise--like 30 days.

I do think I could get Fiji accomplished and probably the month cruise, but less likely the around the world run. Fun to dream though!!
