Curious about protein supplement

Has anybody used or is using the pre-digested protein liquid from Protinex or Pro-Stat? I got about a million free samples and my doc recommended me use them, at least in the beginning to make sure that I'm getting as much protein that I can. I have been extremely lucky in the fact that i dont get hungry or feel full, like another poster recently said. I've never felt like I was ever gonna puke. Not even right after my surgery. But, good Lord those things make me queasy!! I'm forcing them down twice a day because I'm looking at them like they're my medicine, but %$&*!!!! They also have chewable pills, but they only have 1gr of protein each. That's alot of pills, so, I drink.

Don't bother with those things.  They are mostly collagen protein which you won't absorb.  You  need something with whey isolate in it, and no collagen.

Jumpin' Jesus Kelly, you're right!! I just looked at the whole pamphlet that they sent with it and it states that it is specifically wonderful for bariatric patients, yet both different brands are collagen!! So, at least I wont have to choke down that crap anymore!

Anytime you see something that promises you a whole lot of protein in a really small amount of liquid, it's almost certainly collagen protein.

As far as them saying they are wonderful for bariatric patients, well, they lie.  Companies lie like that on their packaging all the time.  Like, Optisource says they are specially formulated for gastric bypass patients but they contain calcium carbonate which we can't absorb.  Flintstones writes the word "complete" on their label but they are missing some very important things.

Oh, and you wanna know why they taste so gross?  You know where collagen protein comes from?  Whey isolate comes from milk.  Soy, obviously, comes from soy beans.  But collagen comes from boiled horse and cow skin.  I kid you not.
