I haven't had my period since November (2010)...and thrilled about that fact!  4 weeks after surgery...guess what....you got it, or I got it!  ACK....at a certain age they should just let a woman have a voluntary hysterectomy!  In the immortal words of Sergeant Murtaugh, "I'm too old for this sh*t!"

Amen! I actually was just talking to my husband about this, I'd almost love to go in and say "take it all out!" I doubt the Dr. would even discuss it with me, but darn It's a nice thought some times!

I normally don't have a period because my OB lets me skip my sugar pills in my BC pack.  Then, a week before my surgery the surgeon told me to stop taking the pills.  I didn't even think about it until I got home from my apt that my period would start.  So, my period started two days before surgery and lasted 10 days (the reason my OB lets me skip having a period).
Then, because they said I had to stay off the pill for a month, I had it again for 10 days three weeks later...I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
