How did you detemine this is the problem?  Have you tried a suppository or Milk of Magnesia?

Kinda gross.. but by impacted you mean you have a huge ball of feces stuck in your rectum that is too hard/big to pass?

Some people (TMI) will use their fingers to break up the pieces to get it out.... another method is to put your thumb in the vagina and massage the mass from the inside, to help it pass...sometimes both methods have to be employed

That happened to my son. I cut a piece of an old towel with warm water and put it in between his cheeks. it softened a little and he passed it.

this one too might help, drink a half glass of warm water with a tablespoon of olive oil. helps soften.

Unfortunately, all of these responses are correct.

I had this early on... felt like a hard, hard ball about the size of a pool table ball....

Pushing did not make any impact; and the pain was almost unbearable.

I called my. Dr. and was getting ready to go to the hospital, when I recieved a return call.

I was told to

1. Pu**** back up (GROSS)
and
2. Perform a Fleet Enema on myself

I did this... and the Fleet released mostly fluid... not the "ball".... or so I thought.

Over the next 5-10 minutes, the "ball" became more pliable and I could reach up (with a slightly oiled, gloved hand) and chip away at it.

I picked a bit out... continued to push .... then, WHOOSH... the largest and most amazing BM I have ever seen.

Sorry for all the details.... but I hope this helps you!

Same thing happened to me 10 days post-op.  I went to the emergency room and they gave me two enemas which didn't do anything.  I went home and gave myself another one.  Unfortunately, that didn't help either so I had to put on rubber gloves and claw it out.  If was so gross but nothing else was working.  Once it was done the relief was enormous.

I also dealt with this issue last week a few weeks after my surgery. I did go to urgent care and they told me to take lots of miralax......(this was after milk of mag and two enemas).   Did not work.....surgeons office called and said take two more does.....I did NOT believe it would work but the next day I was slowly able to get it out!!!  Now I am taking two stool softeners a day and will take miralax if I do not go........thankfully this is resolving.  Truly, Try the miralax and enemas.....

Good luck and I sooooo feel for you!
