On Wednesday I got my date!!! 5/31/11.  It seems so far away still but I'm sure it will go fast.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can prepare for it??  I've already given up ALL caffeine & alcohol, sugar & fats. I'm exercising daily & taking my vitamins too.  Is there anything else I should be aware of or that I should be doing??

HI Jodi, sounds like you have a good start. The vitamins pre op were great for me as well as starting to walk a bit before. Biotin has helped me to slow or prevent hair loss and I take a multi, Tums, and B-12 daily. Seemed to have worked for me. Good luck to you.

Is the Tums taken for the calcium?  Tums is not a good form of calcium for us as it is calcium carbonate.  We have problems absorbing the calcium from them.  It is recommended we take calcium citrate.  Just a thought...

I wondered that myself.  My nutritionist recommended Citracal so that's what I'm taking along with my Multivitamin & my B-complex.

I'm still working on the 30-20-20.  It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do!
