OMG I itch
did not have much itchiness after my RNY in 08 but after my panniculectomy/TT March 3 I did and still do....I too have internal stitches and durabond on top..
I take Benadryl tablets or capsules and Neosporin w/pain relief gel....It is the healing that is making you itch because I was cut hip to hip and my incision is itching from hip to hip
It depends on the cause of the itching. There's a painkiller that causes terrible itching! I forget what it was. I had it in the hospital. Benadryl by IV did the trick.
Oh, about that painkiller. I didn't know about that side effect at the time, and it kept me awake the first night. Some stupid nurse's aide, or maybe a nurse, told me that if I wanted to sleep I should keep hitting the painkiller button. That just caused more itching that kept me awake! Boy did I complain to the supervisor when I got home. That's St. Luke's Hospital, by the way.

I am crazy itchy, its the glue that is extra on the wounds that is driving me nuts. Dont have benedryl in the house as my son is epileptic and if he got any could cause seizures. So i am just stuck I guess. Lucky me
