Any health food store or even the vitamin section of the grocery or Walmart.

Papaya enzyme is an inexpensive product that has a fruity flavor and helps to break down proteins or other foods.  I get mine at Puritan Pride vitamins when they have their buy 2 get 3 free specials.  Seems to work pretty well for me when my stomach is upset after eating. DAVE

I know you probably don't have this just laying around the house...BUT next time you go shopping buy some Adolph's Meat Tenderizer (unflavored).

Mix a small amount in a small glass of water and sip slowly. The meat tenderizer will start to break down the food.

Good luck...it is a horrible feeling.

I went through this a LOT during my first few months. I found that walking around seemed to help speed the process up. This is gross, but I found a way to contract my stomache that would help it push on up. It is a miserable feeling, but it does pass. Try to slow down when you eat and chew for longer. This helped me sometimes. Some days soemthing I ate just the day before and did fine would give me the foamies, moody pouch I guess. Hope you feel better soon! Hang in there, it does get better!

can throowing up to much cause a hernia???

Yes.

It can also cause esophageal varices (dilated veins that can bleed...A LOT) and in really bad cases esophageal rupture.

Throwing up occassionally is fine, but I have a friend who is now a medically induced bulimic after her RNY and vomits at least once, if not 2-3 times a day. I worry that one day she's going to throw up, split open her esophagus, and die.

If you are continuously vomiting due to a stricture, eating too much, not chewing enough you are putting your life in danger and please seek help.

If you get a stricture, you might not have a choice in whether you throw up. but I encourage people to say the alphabet and chew for every letter of the alphabet..... often we think we're chewing enough but if you get stuck often, then you probably aren't. For myself I never had this problem except once, and I was able to stick my finger down my throat and vomit. But chewing well is a huge help, in digesting the food (our saliva is full of digestive enzymes) and in preventing a stuck/foamies episode.
