How do YOU track your food?

I'm a bit overwhelmed with keeping up with how many calories, grams of carbs, grams of protein and the whole thing.  So I'm in the process of building a spread sheet to help track stuff.  There's no problem if I'm eating exactly the serving sizes but otherwise it's difficult.  I now have a food scale so I at least can measure my meats better.

So anybody want to share their tips for tracking things?

There are a number of sites online that allow you to track.

I just kept a written journal for a while, and learned some pretty good eyeballing skills, but now I only track from time to time.

I've used many things in the past - pen and paper, SparkPeople, etc.... - I now use MyNetDiary - www.mynetdiary.com - I LOVE IT! I can track my food, exercise, vitamins/meds, water all in one place - and there's an app for my iPhone. (there's a droid app too!). I can track online or on my phone or both!

It's what works for me!

I use MyFitness Pal website. It tracks calories, carbs, protein, etc. And the food data base has thousands of foods in it. I can access it from my phone too which is very helpful when I am out and about.

I used Sparks Peple for awhile.  I have a bodybugg now so I use their site so I can monitor my calories burned per the arm band and what I am eating.

Early on, I found that when I take care to maintain my protein...and my vitamins and my water. as long as I am prudent in what I choose to add .carbohydrate wise...... I don't have to track my calories. so I shoot for a high protein count by noon, at least 45 grams, half my days total. To get this in necessitates a low carb intake.   ...and I don't crave the things I shouldn't have....sweetpotato

www.myfitnesspal.com

It has almost every food I have ever searched for and keeps records on everything. You can change the reports to proteins, carbs, etc., and to read the way you want, and for your daily totals to read the way you want.
