time to count our blessings

Just because I like doing this once in a while.

1.  My mother and my sister spent the day at my house and they helped with some cleaning and cooking.  Now I have some chili, homemade soup, and red beans and rice in the fridge to reheat.  I'll have tasty, healthy food all week.

2.  We also made really yummy orange cookies.

3.  My partner's father called to tell us he wants to give us some gas money because it's about a 90 minute drive to the hospital for my ECT treatments three times a week.

4.  My car, which periodically breaks down in various ways, is running just great right now.

5.  My cat just finished her chemotherapy and her cancer is in remission.

6.  I think maybe the ECT is starting to work.  I would not say I feel great but I have not cried in a few days, which is a huge improvement.

That is wonderful! I'm so happy for you, I know how difficult it can be at times. I've been dealing with depression for some time. It feels wonderful to have good days. I hope as time goes on you get better.

I'm GRATEFUL that none of my cats is showing any signs of rabies. I should hopefully find out tomorrow whether the bat was rabid...and I found out that if it wasn't, the quarantine is lifted. I'm grateful also to know that there is a nine in ten chance that the bat was NOT rabid (only 11% tested are rabid, and only 1% in the general population) so chances are it wasn't rabid.....and if it is, but was already dead, chances are nearly zero that the bat contaminated the cats. I continue to be worried

I'm grateful that I have a JOB, and that I'm valued in that job

I'm grateful for my friends here who have uplifted me so completely during the last six weeks as I've gone through a very trying time in my life. And who continue to give back. I get thanks for what I contribute, but I know that I get back ten-fold what I put into this place.

I'm grateful for the chance to be a thin person

I'm grateful for my intelligence and talents. I'm so totally blessed in my life. I can only hope that the blessings that are so abundant continue to be so throughout my life. The most importtant things/needs are well met, and what more can a person ask for?

I am blessed to have a job that isn't WORK but is a joy to do, fulfilling both spiritually and intellectually.

Kelly,  those are wonderful blessings to stop and  take the time to post about.  I  only wish you more of the same and better.  Good luck with your ECT and that kitty stays healthy.

I  dont know if I'm blessed, but I am thankful for  my health, the family I have, friends, a comfy home, and food to eat. Simple , but a start : )

Kelly, I'm so glad that those positive things are in your life! B/c you deserve it!
Especially happy that your cat is in remission. My eldest has been fighting lymphoma and adenocarcinoma and is at the oncologist's right now. I'm only 5 days out so I couldn't go with. She'd finished her last chemo before my surgery but the ultrasound showed inflamation in the pancreas, so we're praying that it's not metastatic.....
