cravings

I'm almost 4 weeks out and I really haven't had any cravings.  Even watching my mom eat a Big Mac didn't bother me.

Today was totally different!!  I was sitting watching tv with my parents.  Then Mom goes and gets corn chips and cheese dip.  Then I notice Dad had the Cheez-its out!!  I really thought I was going to have to leave .  I ate my supper early and I've always been an evening snacker.  Dad was trying to be sneaky which was kinda funny.  I WANTED both things sooo bad!!

So I cruised by the refrigerator and snagged a fake crab leg.  I ate a couple bites then realized what I was doing.  I ended up feeding it to the dog.  My poor dog is probably going to get fatter.  I absolutely canNOT throw food away so he gets all the stuff I just can't finish.

My plan doesn't allow snacking and I've been so good at following the plan.  I was really disappointed in myself at first.  Then I remembered that I did stop it before it got out of hand.

I suspect that my parents being totally out of Popsicles could have been the problem.

I've gone to a couple OA meetings and I think I'm going to talk to one lady about being a food sponsor.  I think having a real live person to be accountable to would do me worlds of good.

Try not to stress over this too much Carrie. We all have days when the cravings get to us. Thankfully, it's not usually EVERY
day. Make sure and pat yourself on the back for stopping things before they got out of control.

Have you thought of asking your NUT if you could switch to a plan that DID include a planned snack or two per day? Some of us really need that.

And I think a food sponsor from OA would be a great idea, at least for a while. It certainly couldn't hurt and may actually help you to get into a routine while sticking with your plan.

Good luck to you, and try not to worry. We all have cravings and we all give in to them occassionaly. It happens.

Hang in there! =)

Thanks, Amy!

I was so proud of myself for not having problems with cravings then WHAM!  I'm hit with this huge surge of WANT.

I will talk to the NUT.  Maybe something like some string cheese would be okay if I'm under my calories.  That would help boost the protein too. ...
