Eating Out....

We grab and go or eat out a lot in our house.  It's how it is.  It's not going to change.  Eating out did not make me fat...  making bad choices eating out and all the desserts - that added to my girth!

I made a stop to Arby's today and got the Jr. Roast Beef:  Here are the nut facts for the meat:

70Calories
  • 3.5Fat - Total (g)
  • 1gTotal Carbohydrates (g)
  • 8gProtein                                                                                                                                                                              I had half of the bun - the smaller bottom half.  (that would be cals, etc. on top of the meat listed above. )  My plan permits all of forementioned.   I am unfortunately too early out to be able to grab salads with low cal dressings.  I am really looking forward to the time when we go out and I can go for the less cal options like a salad and either have shakes earlier in the day or added protein on the salad.  But for now, I feel like I am doing okay.  I know there are many who won't eat out or who would never go to fast food places, but this has to work for all our individual lifestyles and I love the challenge of discovering how that is done and in a way that helps me meet my daily goals.

Chili from Wendys is a staple in my diet if I'm eating on the go.
Also the Fresca menu from Taco bell has amazing fresh tacos that are delcious filled with chicken or steak.

I suggest if you know you're going to eat out a lot. Try packing snacks a few days a week to avoid eating out too often. It'll be easier once you're furthur out too.

But, yes... Like you said, everyone's lifestyle is different.
Enjoy!

thought it was pretty clear I just posted for the meat...  I then added at the end I ate only 1/2 of the bun and it was the bottom half.

Not meant to be a slam.  We sometimes misread things and it can make a difference.  Just wanted to help is all.

Good Luck

I know...  I just get so frustrated.  I have to make this work with my lifestyle in a way that will make this last a lifetime.  I don't know if people realize (and I don't mean you) that this is a HUGE victory for me.  Arby's before would have been the super roast beef, jalepeno poppers and a jamoca shake.

I will only succeed at this if I develop "all things in moderation" approach and discover how that works in this big old crazy world.

Weigh****chers was a great program for me because that is how it worked but it was not enough - so I am trying so hard now to use this tool and develop skills that will last a lifetime.

I don't know why everyone beats themselves up eating out or eating a bit more than usual.   I'm 3.5 years out and I know I am eating way less than i did before the surgery.  Heck, I don't eat enough.............. you're  not eating like you did before the surgery, but, are more conscience of what is going in your mouthes, right?....I see it in your writing.......that is the good side. Keep up the good work!

I can't believe I'm 3.5 years out, 105 pounds.  My goal was 125

I hear you girl!  I think the biggest excitement and victory for me is comparing what "Old Rhonda" would do with what the New and Improved Rhonda is doing!  I'm proud of all of us for learning that it takes fundamental behavior changes to have permanent success.

Good for you, Miss Tessie.  You keep it up, and take it one choice at a time.

I understand what you are saying and am glad this is working for you.  Be aware that the food you eat out generally has more sodium and fat than what you would cook at home.

Eating out wasn't what made me fat either. But my lifestyle and choices did.  I have chosen to use this time to change those things and hopefully it will help me keep the weight off once I get to goal.

You can't expect to do the same thing you used to do and have a different result.  So I am trying to make changes now.

So enjoy discovering how you are going to make the changes within your lifestlye and plan.
