how much protein
how much protein can we absorb at a time. i have been at a stall now for 2.5 weeks and i'm only 3.5 weeks out, 4 weeks on tuesday. I know stalls are normal but I am assuming I am part to do with it. I get my surgeons minimum requirement of 60g of protein per day, of course there are several days i get 70-80 as well but it's mostly the bare minimum. I do also get the minimum required fluid amount which is 48oz but now I am trying to reach the 64oz this week if I can. I usually have 3 shakes per day. 2 are 15g of protein, one is 30. then with food i also get protein in as well but since i'm only eating 2oz of food at a time that takes awhile to add up. so my question is how much protein can we absorb at once. i'm going to try to make 1 of my shakes 40g of protein but i want to make sure i can absorb it all. i'll use 2 unflavored unjury scoops instead of 1.
my other question is i know the protein "shots" that are out there are the wrong protein, collagenic. are there any protein shots out there that are the kind we can actually absorb or no

There is no evidence that there is a physical limit on how much we can absorb at one time.... HOWEVER, you really need to make sure you spread the protein out over the day to keep your metabolism up (and more stable) throughout the day.
No, as far as I know there are no protien shots that are not collagen based. There was that thread last week about the new ones in a small milkcan shaped bottle that CLAIMS to be "doctor recommended" for WLS folks, but if you look at that thread (www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/4381727/protein-bullet-IS-THI S-THE-ONE/), I think it is all marketing hype and still an inferior form of protein that we likely cannot absorb anyway... but if someone can show me otherwise I will stand corrected. Not worth taking a CHANCE on, though, IMO.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Really try upping your liquids and protein thruout the day. Stalls are normal. But for your overall wellbeing, try to pace yourself with more liquids at the very least. I know it's really hard but worth it!
