Need a kick in the rear... well, 2 actually....
I have been sick (to varying degrees) since Sunday. I am no longer throwing everything up (it's either a "bug" or stress... I'm almost 4 years out, not a new post-op!), but had to go to the ER for IV fluids on Wednesday and still feel a little dehydrated. I know I'm not eating or drinking enough because my stomach (and I mean my STOMACH, not my pouch... which is very weird!) is so queasy and even much liquid in my pouch and intestines makes it worse. (Yeah, I'm shaking my head in confusion as well!) Warm liquids are better than cold ones, but not much. Diet 7-up goes down best, but I try to limit the soda. Anyway, I think I need a kick in the behind to get some more fluids (and food) in.
I have also been seriously procrastinating on finishing a dissertation proposal and a conference presentation proposal. One is due on the 20th and the other is due a couple of days later. The dissertation advisor I wanted to work with retired, so I am having trouble re-grouping and figuring out what I can put together that will be acceptable to (and result in the least amount of friction with) the eprson who will now have to act as my advisor. The presentationf ro teh counselor conference isw actually a "part 2" of one I did 2 years ago on the psychological aspects of WLS... so I don;t knwo why I cannot even make myself get off of here and get that one done. SO, anyway, I need some MOTIVATION!
For right now, however... I'm off to a baseball game, LOL!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I am soooo glad I haven't gotten to experience sick yet. But I imagine, you just need to go back to sip, sip, sip.
With the dissertation, seems like changes in the committee are common. My DD experienced the same thing and it was difficult to get everyone together, much less on the same page.
Any way, here is a swift kick, get on the ball.

Just a thought...
I know you have been undergoing a whole lot of stress lately, so I'm thinking that you should not postpone anything at this point. Instead, I think it might help you to have to meet these deadlines as it would force you to jump-start your life.
It's oftentimes easier for us to get lost in depression than it is to make a running start at a life that feels out of control, so if you think you could make these deadlines if you got busy, than I'd go for it because, in the long-run, it might be the best thing for you. It will force you to concentrate elsewhere.
Which ever decision you make, please know that my heart truly does go out to you because you've really had a raw deal handed to you more than just a few times...
Yes, I confess that I guess I do feel a bit overwhelmed (and somewhat paralyzed by that) ATM. I can definitely get the conference proposal done (and it is not the end of the world if they don't accept it (although it would bruise my ego a bit, I admit... I have done three previous presentations at this All-Ohio Counselor Conference and have not yet ever had a presentation propsal rejected...)), and the deadline for it is firm (and first), so I will start work on that one tomorrow. Hopefully, getting that one done this weekend (?) will help my energy for working on the other one.
Thank. I appreciate the insight.

Have you tried the new MIO flavors to use in your water? It is liquid and you squrt in a couple of squirts of the flavor depending on how much taste you want in it. I have acquired about 5 of them and they are great. Strawberry/watermelon is my favorite. Peach mango is good too and so is berry pomegranate. They have splenda and ace K in them. I like them better than crystal light.

I am sorry you have been feeling poorly. As for a rear kicking, review your own posts about motivating others. You give good advice. To continue the rear kicking (ass whoopin), what are you doing going to a ball game when you have work to do?? My mother would say, 'If you are well enough to out to a game, you are well enough to do homework." did that help?
seriously, I hope you feel better soon.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, we came home early (and the game was TIED!) because I was so queasy. I had a brief nap. I will work on my conference proposal tomorrow morning (it is due first and is less work, so I can knock it out and cross it off the list... and perhaps the sense of accomplishment will get me motivated to work on the other proposal).
Thanks.

Wow, I'm sorry you're still feeling bad. Have you figured out what's going on?
As for the other, when I get overwhelmed with too many things to do and I'm feeling all disorganized, I tend to freeze and do nothing. Finally over the years I've learned to give it all up and focus on one thing at a time. I have no idea if that would work for you but it does for me. Sounds like you've already started though.
Take care and feel better!
