That is NOT true. I don't know the science well enough to explain why that's not true but it isn't. Lemme go get Pam.

Nikki is correct. There is no scientific evidence that our body shuts the door on protein after the magical 30g number (or 20g or 40g or whatever number happens to be thrown around at the moment). This myth is so prevelant and being quoted even by medical pros that the ASMB addressed it specifically in their bariatric nutrition guidelines.  http://www.asbs.org/Newsite07/resources/bgs_final.pdf

So no, there is no limit of grams of protein you can eat per meal. HOWEVER -- your body likes it's nutrition in doses throughout the day. So a better method is to figure out how many grams of protein you need all day long and then divide that by how many meals you plan to eat. For instance:

100 grams protein for the day

Breakfast - 20g
Lunch - 20g
Dinner - 20g
Snack 1 - 10g
Snack 2 - 10g

I want to get Pam and Vitalady (Michelle) together on this somehow.  Michelle says the 30 gram/30 minute thing IS true.

Two experts - two different opinions.

I usually stick with what Michelle says because she's so successful and so far out.  But then Pam is like God (ess) to me so I'm truly stuck here.  So confused.......

I am still preop for another 18+ days but I found a whey protein isolate at GNC and it's vanilla ice cream flavored.  I sometimes add a Dannon Light & Fit (the kind for diabetics even though i'm not) vanilla yogurt to it & occasionally fruit of some sort.  I actually look forward to my protein shake because they're so yummy!

mmm, all this talk about protein shakes makes me want to go mix up my favorite one Cherry (i use the frozen tart ones) body fortress vanilla and a bit of sf vanilla syrup. Heavenly.

BTW...I would be remiss to point out that your thread title made me think you'd gotten drunk and were now angry about it.
