My ice cream freezer arrived last night and I am going to make my first ice cream tonight.  Ina ll the recipes I noticed none of them say fat free or light soy milk.  Can I use it?

TIA

I know in Eggface's protein shake recipes she says you can use whatever you want...but for the ice cream I'm not sure. I don't know if it would affect the way it freezes, but I suspect not. I would make a batch with what you have and see how it turns out.

Without the fat, the ice cream will be more crystalized, it will still taste good, but the texture won't be perfect.  If that matters, use at least 2% milk or regular soy.

Each time I make my ice cream it is different. I always try to change one thing or another to make it better. So it is all trial and error... If it doesnt freeze hwo you want it to- it will still taste good and just try something else next time. When I make mine I use 1% milk and it works well for me. I love the stuff! It doesnt stay frozen for long, but long enough :-) Also, I use yogurt and flavor that, too sometimes. It is thicker and creamier.

I was toldyou can make ice cream in a Ninja, I hope to get one soon and try it. RIght now if I want ice cream I just make my protein/nutriion drink extra thick.

I use my Ninja to make all kinds of frosty protein desserts.  I love it.
