Can anyone tell me the average time for energy return? I had my surgery the 10th of this month with a correction surgery on the 13th. Just don't seem to have any sustained energy.........15 minutes of anything wears me out. Anyone able to tell me about how long this lasts?

I was very up and down with my energy for the first 8 weeks.

may take a while...once you start getting your protein in, you will start feeling better:)

I'm almost 4 months out and I still have this problem some days. I can really tell when I can not get all of my protein in. It's really important to get your protein and the vitamins in. It will get better.

Thanks for all the input! Yesterday was my first day on soft food which didn't stay down well so maybe today's energy lag is directly related. I have been trying to at least drink an protein drink (15) per day even when I can't do food. Thanks again for the help.

I noted reduced energy levels in myself starting at about two weeks post-op.  The drop-off was pretty dramatic... I'd get winded walking around the block and had to stop to rest a couple of times.  The climb back to "normal" energy levels was much less of a quantum leap.  It was so slow and gradual that I just sort of realized one day, maybe four months post-op, that I'd had more energy for a few weeks.
If my case is typical, then you can count on feeling run-down for three to four months after your surgery.  This may have more to do with rapid weight loss than with post-surgery healing.  It seems to me that if you're eating right, your body doesn't have a lot of surplus food to convert to storable energy reserves.
All in all, considering my condition before the surgery, I'd take the sporadic loss of peppiness over being morbidly obese any day.
Good luck on your journey.

Learning to swim was easy.  The hard part was getting out of that burlap sack.  Those rocks were heavy.

I'm 5 weeks out and TODAY is the first day I felt up for exercise. I walked a mile! I take all my vitamins and get 80-100 g protein daily, mostly shakes but also food/yogurt when I can get it down. So be patient with yourself and just stay up on your vits/liquids/protein!
