Im 6 wks post op and I have noticed for about the last week or so the same pain and it drives me nuts! Im constantly moving aorund in my seat to try and aleviate the issue. Another thing I worry about is getting a pylonidal cyst. I had one as a child (teens) and had it lanced and fortunatly it never came back, but I know once youve had one you are more likely to have another and Im afriad the stress of ewight on my tail bone will cause another one and let me tell you, those damn things HURT LIKE A MOFO! Im just surprised that at just 6 wks out Im already having this problem!

Oh my goodness! I thought I was losing my mind when I noticed this recently! My tail bone has been bothering me when I sit in my car for any period of time. It's almost like I can feel it rubbing against my car seat. It HURTS!

I am going to google that pillow. It sounds like exactly what I need!
Thanks so much for asking about this!

I am still pre-op but have noticed it going from 316 to 260. It makes me very worried about post op. I guess I will have to get some of those pillows. I too have too lay on my side to relieve the discomfort.

Update.   Went to see my surgeon today for (we think) gallbladder issues.  I asked him about the tail bone effect.  He had never heard that before but said exercise will help those muscles.  Now I just have to find out what exercise will work that area.

I have a ****yx pillow, but have better relief of pressure with a beaded neck cushion.  I wake up at night with butt bone pain and have to shift position.

I had plastic surgery (TT and arm lift) one week ago and would wake up with butt pain and not be able to lift hips (due to TT and arm incisions).  Excrutiating pain.  The 4 hour car drive home sitting up was horrendeous.

This neck U shaped pillow - I keep in my chair and place the U opening to the back of the chair.  The "beads" inside the pillow keep it from "squishing" down and going flat.

I have been putting it under my hips while in bed and getting better sleep.  Today - for the 4 hour drive to plastic surgeon - I sat on it the entire way and it helped so much.  I need to try to find another one. (This one was a gift from years ago).  I was only a few weeks out of RNY when my butt became "bony" and I found this pillow in a closet.

As long as I can keep the pain away with this pillow, I won't seek other alternatives.  I don't want any more surgeries.
