Brusing after surgery?

My hubby is 10 days post op. Today we noticed a bruise we hadnt seen before. It was under his belly button, lower then where the incision is at the top of the belly botton. I didnt have any brusing after my surgery. Just wondering if anyone else did?
A little concerned....He doest feel bad or have a fever...it isnt hot...

I guess we are concerned if maybe it could be internal bleesing but it looks more like a bruise..He really doesnt think its bleeding...He feels fine.

I was black and blue which then turned to that lovely purple-y yellow color all around the bottom side of belly button. Normal!!

Thanks makes me feel better to know he isnt only one. All day long we have said it was fine nothing to worry about by then again tonight we started going hmmmmmm...LOL

I'm 27 days out and I still have a large bruise around there too ...I think it's where they kept sticking me w/the needle for the heprin to prevent leg clots. 

Yup ...me too ...from the shots :)

My surgery was on Wednesday and my entire abdomen is brusied!  The Dr. had to clean out a bunch of scar tissue from previous surgeries, so I'm guessing that's why I'm so bruised below the belly button.

My hubby also told me today that I'm bruised on the back of my thigh's.  Maybe it has to do with the blood thinners (heperin) they give us??

Yes.  I think it us normal.  I had a huge bruise down there too and it stayed there for about a month afterwards.  My mother said it was where the blood collected after surgery. 

I had a scary dark looking bruise in the same place.  It took quite a while to go away, probably 3-4 weeks.

I, too, had large bruises on my lower belly after surgery. I think it happens when they are inserting the cannulas for the laproscoptic tools. They have to place their hands on the belly to be able to create some resistance when they push them through the muscle wall.

Yep, me too! I'm all sorts of colorful. I even have one under my breast which is slightly bizarre.
