Open Challenge

For anyone looking to set a goal and needs some motivation I am throwing out a challenge.

The Challenge is an easy one

Participate in a 5K by the end of summer!

I don't care if you walk it, jog it or run it.  There comes a certain joy in finishing a 5K for me it comes from knowing that 1 year ago I would have never imagined that I could do something that seemed so difficult.

I think in each of us is the drive to finish something we start so by simply signing up for one typically will mean you will fini**** Crossing the start line will mean you are going to fini****

Any takers?

Go Commando ...?

Isn't chaffing an issue?

(and all that bouncing...)

I wish.  LOL

Obstacle course where you get to run in mud, climb ropes, etc.  I think I would rather bounce!!

In my previous life I was a runner. There was nothing like that runners high. Funny that you posted this b/c one of my first goals is to run a 5k.

I thought I'd be able to handle running by this weight, but tried a little jog and didn't make it two blocks. I can't handle the pounding on my poor knees. They were one of the principal reasons I was scared into WLS, and apparently they are holding a grudge.

BUT:

I'll take your 5K challenge, sir. And here's my personal pledge. I will time a 5k walk,
(Pfffft. 5K? Piece o' cake)

and then by the end of summer I will shave 25% off my time.

I'm warming up now.

I'll take you up on that! I just walked/jogged a 5k distance today, so at least I know I can finish.

I'm in...

I have thought about doing a 5K....guess the time for thinking is over and now it's time 'to do'!!!

Thanks for issuing the challenge....just the kick I needed.

Remember Ron (the guy that had had WLS on The Biggest Loser a couple of seasons ago) walked/sat/jogged/walked some more/sat some more/walked a marathon in like 20 hours?  What determination!!!  I have often thought if Ron can do it.....and fini**** why couldn't I???
