I am almost 3 weeks post op and I am still having issues with mine. My bigger incision has been draining for a week now.

I think it's pretty common to feel crappy for the 1st week. My first 2 days post op in the hospital were shear HELL. When I got home it got a little better, days 3 and 4 were pretty bad, I couldn't sleep because of the pain under my left breast. Everything tasted gross to me, except for my protein drinks. After the 1st week I felt like a new woman. 2 1/2 weeks post op now and I feel great. Hang in there, it does get better.

I understand completely I was in the worst pain of my life while in the hospital and I have had two children one by c section and nothing compared to this. everyone acted like this was so easy and no pain but everyone is different. I hope you feel better soon. I am 15 days out today and am just now starting to feel better i am still a little sore but feel human again. the drain sucks and the incision by the drain is the biggest one so that whole side feels like someone is stabbing you. but i know you will get better it does suck but give it a couple weeks. once you start losing you will get more excited. good luck

I had very minimal pain after surgery. I only took pain meds for a few days after they sent me home. My sister on the other hand had surgery two weeks after me with a different dr and she was in pain for about ten days.

I felt so bad because I kept telling her that the pain wasn't that bad and for her it was.

I'm 12 days out and I feel great. To be honest, I had very little pain in the hospital, and only took one dose of pain meds (Tylenol with Codeine) when I got home. I was certainly uncomfortable and my tummy was doing back flips which led to some serious bathroom time, but I wasn't in pain. Luckily, my surgeon also took my drain out the day I was discharged, so I didn't have to deal with that.

Good luck with the pain, I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry for your pain. You will get through it though! And it will be so worth it in the end! A week or two of pain for a lifetime of health...that's how we have to look at it.

I had surgery on 5/31 too and I was also lucky to have my drain removed before I was discharged. That was the sourceof a lot of my pain. If I keep up with my pain meds, I am ok, but I do get sore if I sit up too much (pressure on the abdomen).

I have been walking around a lot and that has helped with the gas. My goodness I've had terrible trouble with gas, but it's getting better.

Hang in there!! We can do this!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I am feeling much better rested today, day 5. I actually slept for a whole 6 hours instead of 2. I told my poor husband that I am glad I slept so well. He said to me I dont know what you are talking about.... He said I moaned and groaned and whined and ouched in my sleep the whole time. Poor man.....

I am drinking what I can when I can. Mostly water. I am absolutley in LOVE with smar****er. My family thought that they would put tap water in smar****er bottle and I wouldnt know the different..... DUH! I noticed the smell and the taste.

I still hurt but not as much. I hope the crying spells I have go away too.
