They do NOT have many things we need, like minerals and many of the B vitamins.  Did you read the label?

Kelly- my surgeons nurse says we cant swallow anything larger than an M&M...all of the other vitamins are horse pills

In the very early days, swallowing big pills is hard 'cause stuff is still swollen in there.  A little further down the road, it's no problem.

Here are your options.

A chewable that has all the stuff we need, like Celebrate, Bariatric Advantage, or Centrum Silver.

ENS - a drink mix from Celebrate, like those single serve packets of Crystal Light.  That's what I use.  They have some with protein, too.  As an added bonus, they have 500 mg calcium.

Buy one of the horse pills and chop it into a few pieces and swallow them one at a time (you can buy a little device for cutting pills at any pharmacy) or crush them (you can buy a device that crushes pills, too) and mix it in yogurt or pudding.

So Centrum chewables if you need an in-store purchase would be better but Bariatric Advantage and Celebrate also make chewables that are suited for RNY patients. Better to spend extra money on something that does your body right than waste money on something that may set you up for deficiencies... or worse! In this case, it's not size that matters - it's what's inside!

Lol I know. My surgeons rules are crush your pills and take chewables vitamins for the first 3 months post surgery so I've been usuing bariatric advantages chewable multi and their calcium chews. I was hoping to get away from all the chewables but that doesn't seem possible if I want the correct stuff.

Yeah you can.  Try ENS from Celebrate as a multi and Upcal D for calcium - it's a powder you mix in any drink and has no taste at all.  Celebrate will send you free samples of ENS.  If you wanna PM me your address, I'll even offer to send you a free packet of Upcal D.

Kelly ill take your word that the upcal d is flavorless. Ill order some from amazon. It would be nice not having to chew those chews or take pills 3x a day. How much calcium is in a serving? I appreciate your help

The Upcal D is 500 mg calcium citrate per serving.

Since I use ENS for my multi and it has 500 mg calcium per serving and I do two a day, I only do one Upcal a  day to get all my calcium in.
