Well, when reviewing my EGD results at my pre-op checking they see I still have H Pylori. I start a Pylera course tomorrow and surgery is rescheduled for June 28th.  I'm really upset, but I know it's for the best outcome.  I'll just have ANOTHER two weeks of liquid diet.

Poor thing. If it makes you feel anybetter I had to do an extended liquid diet as well. Mine was because of insurance approval etc. But, I made it and am so glad that I had the surgery. You will too. You will do just fine and next we will be hearing how you have just lost 30 lbs etc.
Good luck.

My insurance responded in 11 days stating that they needed me to complete the h.pylori test(last minute mandatory add on). I took the test and was positive. I am now in pending and am currenlty taking the antibiotics from the 7th to 20th. I was almost home.
I am praying for negative results when I retest next friday or the following monday.
Keep the faith.

Just a heads up - I was referred to a GI specialist pre op after 2 positive H pylori tests - even after a full round of treatment.

He pointed out that H Pylori is one of those bacteria that remains dormant in our systems - and we can test positive even if it is in a dormant stage. In order to get an accurate result, we should have the recheck using a stool sample.

So if in doubt, ask about the stool sample test when you recheck to keep things moving forward.
