just fainted... feeling like i'm dumping
Not having a good morning. I just fainted. Thankfully I'm not alone. My teenager was here, and my dad pulled in just as i came around (like 1 minute later). My teenager called gram, who kept him calm and talke dhim through it. My sugar is normal (94), my heart was racing, like I was dumping, but hadn't eaten anything to dump on. Had my daily granola bar with a tbsp of reduced fat pb (per my nut) for breakfast. Was fixing the twins lunch (eggs), would make my own in an hour. I was drinking, so I'm not dehydrated. Trying to figure out what is going on. Still feel light headed. I did manage to get to the living room before the lights went out, so when I went it was on the sofa. The twins thought mom went night night. Any idea what went on?

Your body doesn't "tally" when ti comes to dumping... it is a syndrome that responds to what you ate last. It is not uncommon, though, for people to be able to eat something one day and then have trouble with it the next day. My guess is that your experince may be blood sugar related. It's possible you are developing reactive hypoglycemia or even regular hypoglycemia (which is what I have)...

How is your blood pressure? I have had low blood pressure most of my life and I get dizzy spells where I am light headed. I have passed out once from it. It is usually when I get up but it has happened other times.

I agree that the next thing you should check is your blood pressure. Low blood pressure can make you faint and will definitely cause you to feel light-headed. Do you take meds for hypertension? If so, you may need to discontinue them or reduce the dosage.
You can get an automatic home blood pressure monitor at your local pharmacy. Mine wraps around my wrist and keeps about 3 months of readings in the memory so you can track how your BP is trending. It cost about $30.

I had fainting issues that began around 7 months post op. I'd always had a relatively low pulse rate. I sought an answer from my PCP, and after several tests over several months, changes in new bp meds, etc., I got a referral to a cardio specialist. One more Holter Monitor test and I had a diagnsis. I had pulse readings of 45 and 38 when fitted for Event and Holter Monitor tests before. The cardiologist said I needed a pacemaker. I was having short periods of slighltly high bp and then return to normal. BUT, once in a while, the return to my normal low level, it would dip below and that's when I had the severe dizziness or fainting issue. Diagnosis on a Thursday, and pacemaker implanted the following Tuesday. No more issues since that time, which is now over 3 years ago. Check your bp and if the issue continues make sure you speak to your pcp. DAVE
