what i think is funny is the people that feel bad for us when we can't eat like they are.  i keep telling them, i am fine but they don't think so.  i have told people that it really is fine because i am actually not hungry so seeing you all eat your food and not being able to doesn't bug me

My advice for pureed stage......don't puree anything you intend to eat not-pureed later.  Some things may sound like it would be ok, but by the time you puree it and taste it, you regret it and months down the road you still remember the way it looked and tasted.

My post-op eating plan was much different then most others.  I was allowed beef at 8 days post-op and had no problem with it.  HOWEVER, I would not encourage anyone to go against their surgeon's plan.

Throwing it in the blender sounds disgusting.

Although it kind of sucks right now, to be on a pureed diet during a 4th of July BBQ, it won't last long. Once you get through this beginning part, you will be able to enjoy BBQ food again at some point.

Drink a shake before you go and drink water while you're there. Enjoy your friends and family!

I hear your pain wanting something normal BUT you know I had my surgery 1 day before you and I can't even imagine trying hamburger .... be safe, o.k.  I'm right there with you............but I am erroring on the side of caution.........everything has gone so well for me............don't want to push to soon.  I see my nutrionist next Tues. July 5th..........onto the next stage of my diet!!

Yes I have done this recently. It was not bad at all. I included half the bun and a little ketchup. It went down fine and was surprisingly delicious! My was grilled also. Hope you try it. Kahwren,

I think the better question to ask might be not can you do this, but should you be doing this at the stage you're at?

One of the things we have to learn to do is make nutritious and healthy choices, and I would question if this qualifies.
