I'm 13 months post op with iron levels that are dangerously low.  My Iron saturation is 9, Iron Serum is 31.  Aside from eating foods with Iron, can someone please recommend a good supplement, chewable or liquid that I can take.  I am getting my Iron checked again in 4 months.  Aside from low iron, all my other labs came out relatively normal.... which I'm excited about.  Just worried now about Iron.  Thank you for you help

I take Feosol 45 mg Elemental Iron 2xs a day with 500 mg Vit C. I am also working on my Ferritin levels too.

Honestly I would order the proferrin ES iron from vitalady or the Proferrin iron website as quick as possible!! It has hemme iron in it which is one of the best irons for us.

Is your surgeon monitoring the iron level or only your PCP???    My surgeon ordered iron infusions when mine went to 8.  I was so tired all the time. My primary care physician wouldnt order because he didn't think they were low enough.  I ended up driving almost 2 hours to get iron transfusions each week but well worth it!!

I'd say the Tender iron + the Proferrin ES. They'll tackle it from 2 angles.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
