I was told to increase my b12 to 1500 micrograms a day. If it doesn't rise in 3 months I will get the shots. That's all I was told about my blood work. My endocrine doctor said my d was low but not how low and told me to take 2000ius...I will order vitaladys 50,000 and try it 2 times a week for 3 months and see where I end up...anything else seem off to you? Thanks for taking the time out to check -nicole

Your B12 is definitely low.  Below 550, people tend to get tired and depressed.  And if it drops below 400, you can end up with permanent nerve damage.  Your plan to increase it to 1500 mcg a day will probably fix it.

I don't see a vitamin D level, but if it's low, increasing it to 2000 a day will probably not help at all.  However, it's hard to say how much you need without knowing how low it is, so I would call and ask for the number.

There are a whole bunch of numbers I don't see here, like vitamin A, PTH, thiamin, zinc and copper.

Thanks Kelly. Does my calcium and protein numbers look okay for now? And my iron? In 3 months the script for blood work includes vitamin A K E & D. As well as phosphorus zinc and the ones previously tested. I have gastritis that's finally under control so they're finally allowing me to swallow my bigger pills. I plan to get centrum woman's for a multi and citrical petites for calcium. So long gritty chewables!

Your calcium's fine.  Your protein isn't bad but you might increase it a little.  You might want to up your iron a bit, too.

Twinlabs has B12 sublinguals ("dots")  that are 5000 units (if you want to avoid the shots).

Calcium is good. I'd go every other day on the D3-50. You'll probably end up 3-4 per week for life.

I don't like ferritin or iron if it's 36. B12 is half what it should be. If it was mine, I'd be doing shots today, but I freak easily.

Pre-albumin is scary, yet albumin and protein are nice.

Do you use protein shakes? Whey? How many?

I didn't see vit A? Zinc? Any other b-vites?

I'm going to buy 2500 mcg of b12 and start taking those. Also, ill purchase the vitamin d from michelle and do that every other day. Is there any harm that can be done from too much vitamin d until my next blood work appt? Also, my multi vitamin(not chewable) has 100% iron in it..will that raise my iron? I'm so worried about all this. I drink either jay robb or 100% gold standard whey once a day. It comes out to 35 grams of protein with skim milk. I appreciate your time because although my surgeon is top in his field, they're shotty with lab results apparently. Next round they're testing vits a e k phospourus etc. Thanks again ...nicole
