whats your typical weekly menu like?
im still on soft foods & i get so excited when i try something new that i can tolerate, lol. but im not very good at thinking up new things, so help! what do you eat on an average week for breakfast, lunch & dinner? things other than the usual cottage cheese, egg/tuna salad, etc. i need new ideas! thanks in advance.

You are just a day ahead of me on your surgery. Not sure what your Dr told you regarding when to try new foods. Mine sent me home from hosp. on full liquids, at one wk post-op apt he told me to go to soft foods like scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, etc and do that for a week and as long as i tolerated those to start adding in other foods as tolerated.
I have read on OH that hamburger is one of the last things a lot of us can tolerate and have to build up to further out, I can eat it, but I can tell pouch is touchy with it so I try to avoid it if I can right now. Same with chicken. All depends on what kind, how it is prepared, etc. I have not gotten sick from it, but someimes pouch is touchy.
Some things I like are...
1) Pureed black beans heated up and a little water added to make like a soup and not too thick. Sprinkle cheese on top and that is good.
2) Not sure if you have tried salad yet, but I have and do good with it. I have salad with feta cheese and add either boiled egg, cooked shrimp, canned chicken breast meat, or grilled chicken breast.
3) I cooked part of a can of vegetable soup and added canned white chicken meat to that and that was good
4) I have sauteed shrimp w/veggies
5) I have taken thin deli slices of ham and a piece of cheese and rolled it up to eat
