what should I do?
I'm pretty sure what I've been feeling over the past days (and sporadically for the last few weeks) is nothing new status post WLS. I can't really eat. I mean,I CAN eat but I feel lousy everytime I eat. EverytimeI even drink water. IT's not necessarily "pain" per se, but more like a weighted, uncomfortable, genreally crappy feeling. The protein shakes are EVEN worse!
so my uestion is: should I force myself to eat anyway? I did force down my required water and a protein shake today. Plus three bites of watermelon and one slice of cheese. But I'm hesitant to try and eat anymore. Stillmy hubby is freaking out, b/c my intake has been so low for several days. What should I do?

Call your surgeon.
You MUST get in protein, one day of not reaching your goal won't matter in the grand scheme of things but it needs to be an occassional situation where you got close to your goal.
Are you using milk in your shake? Is it a gassy feeling, nausea, burning?
If you can get in another shake by all means do so.

Yes, you should "force" yourself to eat and drink. You need the nutrtition, especially since your body is healing from MAJOR internal surgery. Moreover, if you continue to eat very, very little, you plewace your body under additional stress (which can make the hair loss in a couple of months even worse than it would have been if you been getting adequate nutrition) and your body will shut down your metabolism in order to utilize every bit of nutrition you ARE giving it and that will actually SLOW DOWN your weight loss.
One protein shake, 3 bites of watermelon, and one slice of cheese is NOT enough for an entire day.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I'd call the surgeon too. Liquids, at the very least, should be going down a bit easier than you describe. If it's nothing, dr may suggest you eat slower and focus on chewing very well?

ugh...the hair loss has already started. Ihate that. and I have been religiously taking in my required protein/water up until maybe a month ago, on and off because of these "bad days". I will make another shake and force my way through. I want to try and do it right.
BTW it's not a nausea or gas. it feels like every piece of food weighs a ton and that someone is kicking my from the inside while simultaneously squeezing my trachea....lol...hows that for being descriptive??

Please call your surgeon.
I totally understand the feeling you are talking about (it came on to me at about 4 months). Come to find out I had some adhesions that had caused some problems in my intestines and my candy cane had tried to regrow into my remnant stomac. After the adhesion surgery it was REALLY uncomfortable to eat so I didn't. I ended up severely dehydrated and my intestines ended up kind of shutting down and I ended up with a feeding tube, which didn't help and then a PICC line.
Not to scare you, but you MUST get in some nutrition! Please call your surgeon, it is better safe than sorry and please make sure he/she knows what you are really eating in a day.
