1 week post-op.... HUNGER! What to eat??
I'm 1 week post op today. My doctor's office says I can have full liquids and applesauce to take medicines. I'm struggling with understanding why I can't simply blend up anything. I mean, I've blended up soup to make it liquid, so why not an egg? I'm really craving a protien packed egg liquified. Is there any reason not to do this????
My advice is to call your surgeon's office and ask before getting off plan this early out. I'd also say that any hunger you're feeling now is probably head hunger. I'm 3.5 months out and just now getting some sensation of hunger back. When you say "craving" makes me think it's in your head. We all go through that, so don't worry!!
I don't actually think that blended soup is considered a "full liquid," is it? I'm feeling mouth hunger to taste things, too. But...like the prior reply stated...I would follow the plan you're supposed to be on per your doctor and try to deal with the food cravings in a different way like meditation, exercise, whatever works. I just feel like if we get off track this early it's self-sabotage and old food obsession winning out once again. Call the nutritionist and see what she says before you act on your hunger alone- that's how we got here after all. I know it's not easy- I'm struggling too. I just don't think the answer is in your mouth- I think it's in your head. Good luck.
