Need Encouragement...having a hard time
Stress eating goes beyond just being compliant. Its an obsession, a compulsion we can just stop about as easy as a drug addict or an alcoholic can stop.
Binge eating and other forms of compulsive overeating are not usually addressed in wls support groups. Often the best you'll get is being told do not graze.
In my signature there is a link to the recovery group, an organization dedicated to the kind of eating disorders that lead to obesity and keep trying to pull us back there. There are online overeaters anonymous meetings round the clock; telephone meetings; email loops; and literature.
Best Wishes, you can beat this thing. I have been through everything you listed only substitute cat for dog. These issues will pass. You will find resolution. You will be able to move on as long as you take good care of you.

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT. ![]()
I"m so sorry this has been such a difficult year for you, Joyce. No, it is certainly NOT surprisng that your depression and anxiety levels are increased.
As a couple of the others said, it is unlikely that those are two pounds of fat (since that would have required you to eat 7000 calories more than you burned, which is almost impossible 4 months after a RNY unless you are eating lots fof high calore stuff all day long). It is just a water weight fluctuation.
I am sure that once you get on some anti-depressants (and they kick in, of course), it will be easier to follow your plan. I would, however, encourage you to look at the eating portion of the problem to determine if it is just "non-compliance" because you are overly focused on other things or if it is comfort/stress eating. You are at about the time when a lot of people find that the cravings and old bad habits start to rear their ugly heads (and eating because of stress and depression, of course, is one of those habits).
OF more immediate concern that how you are eating (since you are getting a reasonable amount of protein in), is the lack of vitamins. Something that might help is taking one of the doses of vitamins as soon as you get up (make it a ritual to take them before you brush your teeth) and taking a final dose right before you go to bed (make it a ritual to take the vitamins before you brush your teeth and put on your jammies). That way you only have to worry about one (possibly two) doses during the day. (I only need three doses per day.)
You mentioned having had grief counseling. Are you seeing someone now? If not, I think it would help.
If there is something we can to do help, please just ask!
Lora
