Easing the tang of Greek yogurt...

I heard the other day that adding nonfat powdered milk to greek yogurt not only ups the protein, but eases the tang that so many complain of. Has anyone tried this? I was intrigued and excited at the prospect since I'd like if my kids would eat the Greek. Wait, I may have some nonfat powdered milk! Now if I can just find it in my pantry!

Thanks!

Denise

I always mix in a couple of T of sf ff cheesecake pudding mix, ala Poet_Kelly.  It tastes just like cheesecake that way.

I would love to know if it works.  I will have to try the pudding mix.  That tang gets to me.

I use splenda and white chocolate sf pudding mix.  Very good that way. My grandkids love it.

The tang you are experiencing varies a great deal, by brand.

If you purchase a yogurt maker, you can control the "sourness" of your yogurt simply by adjusting the time it ripens (and save a ton of money on your food budget -- Homemade Greek yogurt is 75 cents a quart, and store bought Greek yogurt is sometimes $6.00 to $7:00 a quart in our neighborhood.

(I just made a batch of Greek yogurt using some Fage 0%, and it was so mild that I almost thought something was wrong with it.  Nothing was, I'm just saying -- you can make your own yogurt pretty mild.)

I've found that the Stonyfield OIKOS organic Greek yogurt has the least amount of "tang" to it, and it comes in kid-friendly flavors like chocolate, caramel, and strawberry!

I don't like the tang either so I stay away from Chobani. I found that Fage brand is very mild. More expensive but worth it.
