Wraps?
To be honest I am surprised seeing all the wrap talk because we were literally taught to eat protein first and like you, that meant eating the insides of a fajita or wrap and not the actual bread. It was a long time before I ate breads of any kind.

Thanks everyone for the feed back! Honestly tortillas are one of the foods that scare me right now so it will be a long time for me to try, i feel like they would just ball up into dough when chewing (yikes)! I was curious because I just see a lotta posts about wraps...honestly I was looking for someone to co-sign my bull#@%$ and make it ok for me to not follow the rules, thanks for keeping me honest and on track!
There are flat-outs - wraps. High fiber, high protein, low carbs,
I eat them. sometimes. and mostly roasted, grilled on George Foreman grill. I can eat maybe 1/2 of the wrap with some "innards". Now - 3 years post op I may eat 1/2 every 2-3 months. but year 2 ... I ate more of them.
They are wraps and they are wraps. some - maybe be good for you, some - not so much.

LIke Hala I eat the flat out flat bread for homemade pizza's, wraps, etc. high protein, low fat, low carbs. However, I was at least 3 months out before I tried to add any type of bread to my diet. I'd wait a little while longer.

Hmmmm, this is good to know. My NUT told me to incorporate whole grain breads slowly, and while I really didn't want to I thought a 'wrap' would be ok. I found this California Lavash whole grain wrap kinda thing at Whole Foods. Anyway, after reading this I think I'll pass on the wraps and stick to the innards like everyone else. Thanks guys!!
I think of "whole grains" as just that...the whole grain: rolled oats, brown rice, quinoa, couscous, bulgar....
Not whole grains that have been processed into something else like tortillas, wraps or bread....
Just the way I eat (and think, I guess) at 5 years out.....
Early outs might want to save their pouch space for more protein based foods....
