Stop. I've seen pictures of you and you are fabulous or, as I like to say it, TFF. You just don't know it yet.

I don't....never have, in almost 10 years post op life. I go by how my health and labs are, which is excellent.

One reason I had WLS in the first place was to try to escape my obsession with food. The way some people on this site approach their post op diets (especially YEARS out) seems quite obsessive to me.
Admittedly, I'm not always successful; but overall, I am.

I drinks 2 shakes a day, made with water. There is no way I would be able to eat that much food right now. My doctor wants us to get half of protein from shakes and half from food, He wants us to get 100 gm of protein a day and I get close ( He also says that the shakes will probley be for life)

I use protein powder with no carbs or fat. Whey isolate. And mix that with water. Just less water.
I can add some - fruits or almond milk if I wanted - but I do not have to.

25 gr porteins in water  = 100 calories.
I do not how to get enough proteins without the shake. 3 years post op - lots of muscle s- I need a lot of proteins.

I also need protein drinks (hot, shakes) to get to 100gm protein a day.  I make mine with water or unsweetened almond milk.

I love my hot protein latte for breakfast every day - gets intestines moving - if you know what I mean!

I just can't do enough solid protein to meet requirements - even at 28 months out.

I never used protein shakes for probably the first 7 years post op; I only use them now for convenience and to take in SOME calories prior to running (which I can't do on a full stomach).

You can get your protein from food.

I was never on shakes. My surgeon doesn't recommend them. His patients get all their protein from food - no liquid calories. We all do well, we all lose the weight and have no trouble getting the protein in with food alone. It takes a while but we get there. Many post ops are only on shakes until they can start getting all their protein requirements met with food. I love food to much to drink my meals anyway. Love the fact that I HAVE to have cheese on everything or a good steak to up my protein every once in a while.

My doctor stops them at the end of week 2. They dont want you "drinking" calories. Well I am still doing 2 Nectar shakes a day (200 cals total and 46 gms protein). I also eat lean meats and veggies. I try to limit my carbs in general due to my diabetes. I get some of my carbs from skim milk. I stopped the milk based protein shakes as I only liked them prepared with milk and they increased my carbs over the limit I like to stick too.

I drink a protein shake every day. GNC Total Lean Protein Shake. 6g carbs and 25g protein.
