Medical ID bracelet

My Dr. says this could be a lifesaver. He suggested to NOT get one of the "pretty" ones because EMT's can mistake them for jewelery and not look for the medic alert emblem. Mine has :

I boughta bracelet from a company called "CARE". They come in quite a few colors and different sizes. I bought it at Walgreens, but they have a site online too.  I think I paid around $19. It's basically a USB drive and you place your full medical history on it. It's great because you can update it when you make changes and print it out the data for new dr visits. I did have to secure the strap a litte better to make sure it didn't come off though.

I ordered one a few weeks ago and I should get it next week.  Mine is pretty, but it has a red medical emblem charm attached to it to alert some one.  I think it is a must have b/c our anatomy is different after surgery.

I am 16 and I figured I'd get one because it will be easier for the school nurse to help me if anything were to happen.

I am getting a one for $19.99 online from Walgreens. I think I could manage this better and it would be easier to keep.

Just a word of warning about the USB drive bracelets. Hospitals do not like them because of the very real risk of computer viruses.
