your first restaurant barf
This won't be particularly helpful, but I did not want you to feel ignored... and it will be an example of why I sometimes don't bother opening/replying to posts... I have never gotten sick in public. I have only vomited twice after eating in the 4 years since my surgery (other than when I had a stomach bug) and both times were at home.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I'm over a year out and I too have NEVER , ever barfed yet on anything. I don't "do" any fast food (Why should I?? IT's all crap and what got me FAT in the first place). I always eat Protein first and I don't do to many restaurants because you don't KNOW how much SUGAR, CARBS or FAT they put in their stuff.
I cook 90% of my meals at home, all organic and minimally processed. When I go out, I don't drink ANYTHING and I chew, chew, chew. (Have eaten crab legs at Joe's, Shrimp, steak...) that is the kind of food I eat...NO "burgers" and NO carbs. Just protein. Most I bring home with me anyway (the protein) for my sides I get steamed veggies.
If I ever Barf it will be from flu or something like that. But I don't have problems with eating. No complications from my RNY at all. All the folks in my real life support group don't have any complications either. *shrug* we must be doing it right I guess.
Warmly,
Jackie
