super bored with food

i am having tons of trouble finding easy things to make at home, that are also, obviously, good choices. i eat a handful of things day in & day out:

scrambled egg beaters w/ sprinkle of chees & ff sour cream. (sour cream makes it moist & easier to eat, is that super bad?)
lf cottage cheese with no sugar added peaches, drained.
babybel cheeses.
meat & cheese roll ups.
sf/ff pudding.

i eat too much cheese, im just obsessed with it! ive been going out for dinner mostly, places like panera, calistoga, crispers, getting tuna or chicken salad or soup. i have cooked dinner a few times, but its so hard to cook things that everyone will eat. plus my husband is an RN & works 2 jobs, one of them he isnt home til 8pm, another til almost 10pm, so i dont cook those night & thats 4-5 nights a week.

im babbling, i guess i just need help getting out of my food rut. im on regular foods, but i havent tried beef or salad stuff yet. i do find with soft veggies, but i need my protein first, i know im not getting enough in. i also started working out, although ive had a lazy couple of days, so i know nutrition is even more important.

I eat lunchables a lot, its fast and easy.  And I like chipolte, I get a naked bowl with chicken beans and cheese.

Its pretty much their burrito but in a bowl without the tortilla.  They always wanna put rice in there so you have to say real fast, no rice!  haha

I'm a week behind you and I haven't tried beef yet either.  I'm just too scared for that.  But I have tried alot of other things.  Today for lunch I had a shrimp salad.  Oh yeah, about the salads..I was scared to try them too because I heard some people don't tolerate them well, but I did just fine. I've also got the WLS Cookbook for Dummies.  I've tried the greek meatballs with yogurt sauce (made with ground turkey) YUM, and I've done the stuffed avacados with chicken, corn and black bean salsa. YUM!  Last night the hubbs made shrimp stir fry. It was a steamable veggie medly and shrimp and an egg.  So good! And those make TONS of leftovers for me to enjoy for lunch or dinners. Try to mix it up so you don't get bored.  I do the ham and cheese roll ups too.

i almost 4 mo post op and went thru this too. Just dont do what i did...start adding things you think are safe and arent lol. I intriduced bread back into my diet...that alone i dont feel was bad. But it allowed me to think OTHER carbs were ok here n there and then it snow balled and now im stalled and having to break some bad habbits already. Stick with protein as much as possible, fresh fruits n veggies.

Yes that cookbook is great. I am just into pureed foods, so i've not tried too much yet, but it's very creative. Often, the recipes I like the most aren't crazy or abnormal, but just a nice change of pace. Good luck finding some new favorites!
