weak legs and arms
I have a weak right arm and a weak right hip but I had this problem before the surgery and not afterwards. I'm trying to build the muscles in my arm and I try to walk a mile every day. I have exercises that I use to do in physical therapy but haven't done them in a couple of years. I need to start doing them again. Sorry I can't help out. I do know that if you have a significant difference in strength before and after the surgery, I would definitely talk to you doctor if I were you.
thanks for your fast reply. I did have a total knee replacement one year before my rny surgery but it's more my legs and arms that are weak. I just thought it was from the surgery and loosing muscle and not enough protien. I sure can't reach my goal on what I am suppose to have and it's been four months. I see my dr for my six months check up in Oct. and I will discuss it to her then. I fell this past weekend while trying to lift my leg on a porch, lucky I didn't break anything , just a black eye and bruises. Thanks again !

You should ask your dr. for a lab work up to check for possible vitamin and other deficiencies. There are many that could cause weakness in the extremities. Good luck and be careful. Lisa
If your having enough weakness to cause you falling. I think you should go see your doctor now, and not wait till Oct. From the sounds of your fall, you fell going up onto a porch, but what if you are walking down a flight of stairs, and your legs give out. You could do a lot more damage to yourself then a few bruises. Just because you had surgery 4 months ago, doesn't mean this has anything to do with that. It could be totally unrelated. Good luck to you and I hope you find out what is going on and you feel better soon. Be careful.
