NO!!!!!!  The only way you could gain weight or slow your weight loss down from exercise is if you build muscle, but that's actually a good thing since the more muscle you have the more calories you burn.  Also, some people repor****er retention from exercising, but that's just temporary.  My weight loss has sped up a lot since I started exercising.

exercise is good for you.  it can TEMPORARILY cause you to retain water.  it's just temporary.

Exercise is a GOOD THING for every person on the planet who is trying to live a healthy lifestyle.  Try different things, find something you like.  Do it with a buddy, raise money for charity - whatever it takes.

I do 6 days a week, but you could start with 3 and then work your way up to more.

They are right...and keep in mind muscle weights a lot more than fat.....so judge by the fit and not the number.

If you are looking for a good program I would do free weights, abs and a bit of cardio...remember to give your body a break as you are tearing muscle to rebuild it up.   What has been working for me is running every other day...then free weights and abs on the other day helps to mix things up a bit

I'm of the persuasion that exercise is essential for health and long term healthy weight loss. I know I hate doing it, but it makes me feel a lot better. I look better, too. So, as Terri says, start small and work your way up. Anything is better than nothing.

I exercise.  I don't particularly like it, but I think it has positive upsides.

Just to be argumentative, though, I saw a news program the other day that featured a 100-year-old physician who is still practicing medicine.  Daily.  His (current) specialty is arthritis and geriatrics.  The old fellow said on camera that he thinks exercise is overrated.  He personally has never done it, and advises his patients against it.
Strange, huh?
Oh, yes.  The guy was as skinny as a rail.
Some folks have all the luck.

Learning to swim was easy.  The hard part was getting out of that burlap sack.  Those rocks were heavy.

A lb of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat- muscle does not weigh more than fat.  Fat just takes up more volume than muscle, and obviosly building muscle is much better for the body than having a lot of fat.
