Are you using the Jay Robb whey or egg protein? I am a Jay Robb user as well, and admit it's expensive. I use the egg as I can't deal with the whey aftertaste. If you use the egg, here is a good alternative to Jay Robb - nutritionally similar, and a 2 lb. tube is only $33, vs. $43 for 24 oz. of Jay Robb.

Just wondering..i am only two days away from surgery..I am a day away from no more protein and only clear liquids for about another week or two.  Why is it that you all that have gone through surgery and are able to eat real food are still piling on the protein?  i ask this because i haven't bought any protein at all.  OK wait...when i am only eating a few tbls. a meal thats when i am going to want to push the protein drinks correct?  I think i must have just had to talk this out within myself to figure it out? lol

My Nut says at least 90 grams of protein and I can only get about 60 from food on a great day so I still have 1 shake per day.

Does Jay Robb have a strong whey smell? How about whey aftertaste?

Just wondering...If anyone on here doesn't do protien shakes or drinks...I just had my 1 mo. check up & my surgeon's office told me that I could stop if I didn't want to drink them anymore...I hate them & yes they are pricey...But I don't know if it's a good idea to stop eventhough they told me I could...

I'm 5 months post-op, and I had my last shake about 3 months out. I still count my protein grams - but I get it all from real food now.  Definitely a cost savings for me! I still keep my favorite protein powder on hand in case I get sick or find that I'm not getting my protein in - but so far - so good!

I have to have the shakes because at 4 mo post op i just canNOT get enouhg protein thru food. Even WITH the shake ea day I only average around 60 to 70 g a day...so ive started drinking two a day. My ahir has started coming out A LOT so i figured id better up the protein as much as I could. The Jay Robb was DELI**** was the whey protein, not egg, choco flavored. Tasted just like choco milk, i used 1 cup 2% ff milk. Had no after taste or funky smell. Im SUPER sensititve to taste/smell and this stuff ws great. I just dont get why some of these products are SO expensive :(...I bought one the other day at Vitamin Shopp, catn remember the name, but omg its so NASTY! Im assuming I cant return or exchange it so now im stuck with a 30$ tub of nasty butt protein powder I cant use. Barf...
