First time RNY has held me back
I wouldn't want to be a soldier in some hot dry desert country and have an episode of reactive hypoglycemia (which seems like it can be very common in RNY veterans) in the middle of combat or some other dangerous situation. Just my two cents....
"normal" people don't need nearly as many vitamins as we do, and they don't need to be specific types of vitamins. Like, normal people can use calcium carbonate, but we can't. It seems like it could be hard for them to make sure we got our vitamins when we were deployed in some situations.
We need more protein than normal people, too.
Normal people don't need a ton of blood work done every six months, either.
I would not join the military for many reasons, but one reason is that even if they would take me, I would not trust them to be able to meet my health needs.
