Tops Getting Big But Waist of Jeans the Same???

Ok, the tops I normally wear are long (down to cover hips and tummy) and have gotten quite large on me already.

However, when I went to try on my jeans a couple of days ago, they have not gotten any bigger, especially in the waist. I did not wear them as most of my incisions are right at my waistline and I do not feel like wearing anything tight in that area.

It makes no sense that my tops are big all over inclusing waist and hips area but jeans are the same fit as before??

I am hoping that my stomach is still swollen, but not sure how long it stays swollen? It is still a little tender and I have not tried sucking it in as I am afraid of hurting myself.

It could just be the way you're losing weight. I feel like I'm losing from the top down - first my face, then boobs, then midsection above the waist. FINALLY the waist, hips and butt.

I've gone down faster on shirt sizes than I have in pants.

That actually makes sense to me - I lost from the extremities inward. Arms and thighs got thinner but belly hung on for dear life. I think my boobs & butt shrank before I left the hospital. It was probably a couple months before I started to get a waist back. Kinda felt like the Hindenburg for at least the first month, and equally full of gas.

I don't know if I still have gas from the surgery. In a way my tummy feels swollen, like I can't just sick it in like pre-op, but yet in another way it does feel smaller.

How long did you feel like you had gas? I don't pass gas that often nor do I belch very often.

I didn't feel particularly gassy but was very distended for a few weeks post-op. I knew I felt very uncomfortable and took gas-ex like a fiend but nothing was really going out - just took time to deflate.

My hips and thighs have gone down, but not my waist.  I think it will be the most difficult to lose for me.

I believe my belly will be the last to go as well. As an example I've always had a problem finding jeans that fit me half way decent. When they fit in the waist they are HUGE in the butt and thighs but when they fit great in the butt and thighs, they are way too small in the waist.

Get out a tape measure and take your measurements. Do this at least once a month. I am almost 3 years out and still measure every few weeks.

I could not find my tape measure until this afternoon in fact! I'm going to measure now and do so often.

Thanks!!

A lot of people lose from the top down. Mine started with my face and worked it's way down. Tops were bigger before the bottoms were.
