My surgery center says to try and move to full liquids/mushies in the 10-14 day post op.

I was on clear liquids , for the first 8 days completely,  yesterday i tried very well mashed potatoes that was fine and this morning i tried a protein shake, that really helped my energy level.

Am i pushing to soon?  What were you guys eating at this point?  I have been very lucky so far with lil pain and no nausea.  I do get a full feeling and have been eating slow, baby bites.  No more than 2-3 ounces at a time.  I havenot been able to get the fluids in yet,  but am trying.
Also with so much G2, powerade, tomatoe juice etc.......I am craving a bottle of plain old Aquafina water...............is this a no no?

My Dr is a bit different. He had me start with liquids for just 3 days and then I moved to pureed. At 17 days postop I moved to soft foods. As long as you are handling foods I'd say you're OK. I would listen what your medical team tells you too. Don't stray to far from what they say.

I was eating pureed foods - yogurt, applesauce, refried beans, ricotta cheese and protein shakes, mostly.

I was on full liquids for two weeks after surgery. So, protein shakes, cream soups, broth, jello, pudding. I moved to soft foods at 14 days and started with cottage cheese, string cheese, scrambled eggs and refried beans.

My surgery was on the 8th of this month and I too am just going into mush food. I do alot of plain water, and protien shakes but still havnt gotten up to the full amount my Dr. wants, 64 oz protein and 48-60 oz fluid. I tried cream of wheat today and did well, mashed pototaos yesterday and was ok, the scrambled egg didnt go real well. I too am unsure of exactly I can eat.

Why is water a no no? I didnt know that. I ahve been doing Propel Zero some. but still dont get enough fluids per all the paperworks say. but Im gradually moving up. If you find something good thats a mushie please let me know,.

Just think we can be thin together.

I was on full liquids as well for about 2 weeks. That meant that I drank protein shakes and water.  So plain old Aquafina is great for you.  I couldn't drink the protein shakes fast enough, so I had to focus on plain water to prevent getting dehydrated.

I was only given the OK for refried beans, cheese etc during the past week, and I about 5 weeks out.  Of course, I threw up the refried beans....and the deviled ham.... so I'm living on shakes and lactose-free cheese and trying all sorts of new things a little at a time.

Thanks guys!!!!  I am having very good luck with the mushies and have been very fortunate that i have not had nausea since a lil bit post op. Time i got to the room i was good.

I was told not to drink jus ****er , it had to be g2 or powerade zero or one of the vitawaters.  I was trying to do that then my body was just screaming fo rplain old H2O so i am trying to work some in as i can.  Still cant get all my fluids in.  I can eat about 2 or 3 tablespoons though of jello, mashed potatoes, and blened mac n cheese.  Besides me usual liquids.

It is so strange the differences between surgeons and NUTS.   I am following their gameplan but i am also realizing different people progress at different rates.

After 1 week I moved from clear liquids to full liquids.  On my plan that included yogurt, pudding,  mashed up cottage cheese, protein drinks.
