I think my surgeon's office is a bit confused (update)

The surgeon's office called back after I called to talk to the office manager and told me that if I got the other weight that the insurance wanted, to fax it to them so they could go through my records and fax them to the insurance company to keep the process going smoothly.  Earlier, the person that I was told to call told me that I had to wait until the person got back from vacation next Monday and that would have put my insurance back another two weeks.  It would help if someone in the office knew what was going on when the person responsible was on vacation.  I just want to know if I have an approval or not.....  I called the insurance company and they will not give me any information for me to fax them the information.

Also keep in mind it is YOUR file and it is illegal in most stated for your insurance to deny you information..throw that at them and see what they say.
