x-post- vision loss after surgery?
I am a week out. I'm waiting for a referral to a local opthamologist. I have wet AMD in my left eye and lost all central vision in it because it was not seen to in time. Well it was but the guy was incompetent and I didn't now what it was at the time.
I am having problems all of a sudden in my right eye. I don't know if it's wet AMD starting in that eye too or if this is just some temporary effect from the shock of surgery and low calories. There is a shimmering arc on the right side of my vision which as I write is fading away right now. I noticed the arc on my upper peripheral view yesterday, so this seems to come and go.
When I looked at my amsler grid a few mins ago I had a problem but right now it seems to have gone again. Which is a big relief at least for now.
Did anyone else have temporary issues with vision like this?
I really really don't want this to be wet AMD.

I wear contacts and it seemed like my vision was always blurry. After surgery, when I was so thirsty and my mouth was dry all the time... well, so were my eyes! Dr had me to get wetting drops. As my hydration improved, so did my eye sight. I think the surgery and my dry eyes were related but thats just my opinion.
I had that happen to me a few months ago & I haven't had my surgery yet. When I called Kaiser they had me go immediately to one of their opthamologists. I don't want to scare you but I was told those flashes can indicate retinal detachment. In my case it was caused by a large "floater" (large to me but he said that in reality it is quite small) that developed in my left eye. He told me that the flashes were caused by the thing touching the retinal wall. Which was why I had those flashes of light even in a pitch dark room. Basically it is just something I have to live with & in fact the flashes have almost totally ceased, but that dark gray "floater" is still there and is incredibly annoying. The opthamologist said it is not worth operating on unless it gets a lot more worse than it is now.
